How to create a shipping label

From entering your addresses to printing a label that is ready to hand over.

Creating a label

Log into your account, enter the shipping details, choose your carrier and service, and print your label. The system guides you through each step.

The steps in detail

1. Enter your addresses. Give the sender and recipient addresses. Addresses are validated as you type, so a typo is usually caught before it reaches the carrier.

2. Describe the parcel. Enter weight and dimensions. These decide which services are available and what they cost, so it is worth measuring rather than estimating - a carrier that finds a discrepancy will adjust the charge afterwards.

3. Compare rates. You will see the available services side by side with their prices and delivery estimates. Add the one you want to your cart.

4. Shipping information. Confirm how the parcel is collected and delivered, and add any extra cover you want.

5. Pay. Pay by card, PayPal or from your wallet balance.

6. Print. Your label is generated immediately and can be downloaded from the confirmation screen, and afterwards from Shipments at any time.

Shipping internationally

An international shipment also needs customs information: what is in the parcel, what it is worth, and why it is being sent. You will be asked for this before you can pay, because a carrier cannot accept an international parcel without it.

Where a commercial or proforma invoice is required, it is produced for you and included with your label documents.

Printing

You can set how labels come out - one or two per page, with or without the order number, and whether the invoices are included - under Settings, in Printing Options.
